첫 주 이틀 째 내용 중 일부를 보면 다음과 같다.

 

"The consequences given to Eve (in verse 16) are ones that many mothers understand well: the pains of bearing children and the struggles with marriage. While the childbirth part is pretty clear in this verse, the part about husbands can be a little more confusing. The statement of “he will rule over you” wasn’t a biblical command for husbands to dominate wives, but can be understood better as a description of what was going to happen to the relationship between the two parties—that it would become problematic and complicated as opposed to the perfect partnership it had been. The battle of the sexes began! "

"이브에게 주어진 결과는 (창 3:16) 많은 어머니들이 잘 이해하는 것이다: 아이를 낳는 고통과 결혼(생활)과의 분투. 출신 부분은 이 구절에서 매우 분명하지만 남편과의 부분은 다소 혼란스럽다. '그(아담)가 너(하와)를 다스릴 것'이라는 선언은 남편에게 아내를 지배하라는 성경의 명령이 아니고, 두 당사자 간의 관계가 어떻게 될 것인지에 대한, 즉 (타락) 이전의 완벽한 관계와는 반대로 문제가 되고 복잡하게 될 것이라는 것에 대한 설명으로 이해된다. 남녀간의 전투로!"
